The boom in Biotechnology has opened up many opportunities for women, which can be commercially exploited to create new jobs and economic wealth. To promote viable commercial projects based on the bio sources available within the state, Biotech Park has classified the technologies into four broad segments.

Food-biotechnology

Spices & Oils, Food Processing-plant based, Food Processing-Animal based, Food Additives/Supplements, Infestation/Quality Control.

Medical-biotechnology

Bio-Extraction/Process, Bio-pharmaceuticals, Bio-cosmetics, Diagnostic Kits, Bio- instrumentation/accessories, Quality Control, Bio by-products.

Environmental-biotechnology

Bio Energy, Bio Packaging, Bio Polymers, Bio Remediation, Waste Management, Water Treatment, Quality Control.

Each sub category could be again narrowed down to many individual projects for commercialisation. The Park has made a detailed study and prepared a database identifying these projects.
